Marine & Offshore Glazing
ISO 10077-1 whole-unit U-values, salt-spray corrosion resistance, and IMO fire-rated glazing advisory for superyachts, commercial vessels, ferries, and offshore platforms.
Marine Applications
Built for the Harshest Marine Environments
THERMGLASS VIG delivers center-of-glass U-values of 0.46 W/m²K (standalone) and 0.22 W/m²K (hybrid) in profiles as slim as 6.3–20.3mm — engineered to withstand salt-spray corrosion, structural vibration, and the extreme thermal differentials of Arctic and tropical operating regions.
Marine-premium edge seal with enhanced corrosion-resistant framing is designed to support DNV and Lloyd's Register classification documentation. IMO fire-rated glazing advisory is integrated into the Marine Configurator — actual compliance requires type-approved, FTP Code-tested glazing certified by an accredited laboratory.

Applications
Where THERMGLASS Performs
Superyachts & Luxury Vessels
Ultra-slim 6.3mm profiles fit bespoke frame systems without structural redesign. Approximate Rw 38 dB (standalone) to Rw 42 dB (laminated or hybrid build) acoustic performance reduces engine and sea-state noise in saloons, staterooms, and wheelhouses.
Commercial Ferries & Passenger Ships
Whole-unit Uw values calculated to ISO 10077-1 support HVAC load reduction and operational emissions documentation. Reduced glazing U-value lowers heating and cooling demand across large glazed areas.
Offshore Platforms & Workboats
Hybrid VIG makeup rated for ΔT extremes in Arctic and sub-Arctic operating regions. Polar Code thermal advisory built into the Marine Configurator flags compliance requirements automatically.
Naval & Coast Guard Vessels
Structural integrity under vibration and dynamic loading. IMO fire-rated glazing toggle in the Marine Configurator outputs a compliance advisory for vessels subject to SOLAS Chapter II-2 requirements — actual fire-rated glazing must be type-approved and FTP Code tested.
Key Benefits
Marine-Grade Performance Advantages
ISO 10077-1 Whole-Unit U-Values
Area-weighted Uw calculation per ISO 10077-1 — standalone 0.46 W/m²K COG; hybrid 0.22 W/m²K COG. Actual frame area ratio varies by glazing type and vessel design.
Marine-Premium Edge Seal
Enhanced corrosion-resistant edge seal rated for continuous salt-spray exposure. Adder pricing built into the Marine Configurator: $300/m² standalone, $700/m² hybrid.
Rw 38–42 dB Acoustic Performance
EN ISO 717-1 rated acoustic attenuation. Standalone VIG achieves approximately Rw 38 dB; the upper range (Rw 42 dB) requires a laminated or hybrid build. Reduces engine noise, sea-state impact, and port ambient noise in occupied spaces.
Weight Reduction vs. 24mm Triple-Pane
Monolithic VIG (6.3mm) is approximately 50% lighter than a conventional 24mm triple-pane IGU of equivalent glass area. Weight advantage narrows for hybrid builds (up to 20.3mm profile). Improves vessel stability, fuel efficiency, and structural load margins.
Polar Code & Arctic Compliance
Hybrid VIG makeup recommended for operating regions with ΔT ≥ 40K. The Marine Configurator outputs a Polar Code thermal advisory for Arctic and global-trading routes automatically.
DNV & Lloyd's Register Documentation
Performance data formatted to support classification society energy assessments. ISO 10077-1 Uw values, EN 673 COG U-values, and marine-premium edge seal documentation available on request. Type approval in progress.
